On todays gaming consoles, independent game developers are finally getting their chance to show what they can do. On the Xbox 360, Wii, and PS3/PSP especially, groups of people with lots of talent and little budget are creating some amazingly fun and intuitive games for vastly affordable prices. This is mostly thanks to the new distribution methods through the internet. Independent game publishing is booming since the developers no longer have to worry about the daunting task of producing and distributing the product to reach a target audience. Instead, it's always available right there in your consoles online store.
If you're a frequent patron of independent games on any platform, show your support by placing this stamp on your userpage! Independant games are a new renaissance in game approach and design, so much so that big companies look to indie studios first for ideas to buy.
Some of my personal favorite indie games: Echochrome [PS3/PSP] The Last Guy [PS3] Linger in Shadows [PS3] PixelJunk Monsters [PS3] PixelJunk Eden [PS3] Flower [PS3] Flow [PS3/PSP/PC] Everyday Shooter [PS3] Braid [X360] Aurora Feint [iPhone] JellyCar [iPhone] Fancy Pants Adventures by Brad Bourne [PC Flash] Mirror's Edge 2D by Brad Bourne [PC Flash]
Hmm, I know of all of them except from Cogs, though they're all awesome. God, I so want And Yet It Moves. There was a small prototype demo of it probably about a year ago now, and I still have that, but it doesn't really compare.

Ah, a really great stamp! I heavily support indie games and their developers and have done for quite some time now. It's good that they've finally started peeking on to home consoles and mainstream. However, a lot of the best Indie games are still free ones. My PC is packed with 1500+ of Indie games currently, and that's after I lost all of my games a few months back, so I've still yet to track down everything I had as well as keeping up-to-date with daily releases.

Awesome stamp. Indie games are probably the most important games out there, and the people who make them ought to be proud. After all, John Carmack, Cliff Blezsinski and Jonothan Mak wouldn't have gotten to where they are today without gamers buying their (awesome)games.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.

In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
